Its Not Easy Being Green

I do not have the greenest of thumbs, but I really do try. Unfortunately all of our houseplants seem to be suffering from one form of stress or another. Wilty brown bits...

Stack o' dead leaves co-habitating in the pot...

Been resurrected from death's doorstep at least twice...

Flat out vegetation murder... (Its a succulent fer frack's sake, aren't those things supposed to be hardy and drought tolerant?!)

So what then happens with an unused holiday onion? Sitting in a soil-less bowl on the kitchen counter, with nary a drop of water...

It thrives. Go figure.

And on the subject of green things... the newest food, peas, were met with a studied display of infant ambivalence

Can't you just hear him saying "feh"?

Just keep shovelling veggies into his festering gob! Ha ha! That'll teach 'em!

First plant needs iron, had same problem. Second plant, feed with regular 7-7-7 plant food. Third plant, African violet, NO water touching leaves, top OR bottom of leaves. More SUN! Succulent, WAY MORE SUN. Onion, plant it! Son- mix peas with BEER!
Love,
Dad

on the topic of green items, have you tried avocado? it's sweet (like breast milk) and smooshy (like YUM!) so easy to mash w/fork and my kiddo loves it. then I make guacamole with the rest & we all win!

ps: it's high in the "good" fats & iron, too. avocado, that is.

The Ash loves peas. Go figure. Actually, so far he seems to love everything we've put in front of him, except carrots. Dives for the spoon like a little baby bird...
