Unemployment Schmunemployment
Due to the recent notification that I will be unemployed in about a week, and a HUGE boulder that fell on the road between home and the office, I stayed home today and did almost nothing. But the crafter in me has been itching to do something, so I pulled out the rest of the orange roving I bought on etsy and spun the remainder into some sort of yarn... Pics of that after it dries from its little bath, but here's the process...

What a lucky little boy you have! Not only seeing Hawaii, but having his own surfer board! At that age, I didn't even know there was a beach!
For the edification of all your readers, what in the heck do you do with that roving to "spin" it into yarn? I don't see a big spinning wheel in the second pic! Do you just pinch it and twist it, or do somersaults to get it spun, or what?

The wee little wooden thing clamped between my knees is a drop spindle, and that is what gets spun, and conveys this spin to the roving... If you need more than that, then click the link on the blog post two or so back (link is embedded in the word "this" in front of the words "crafting hottie") to see the whole procedure!
