Leavin' On A Jet Plane

Okay, so things have been moving quite quickly here at the HoopRanch. Seein' as I couldn't get into the local Red Cross class for another two weeks, I'm leaving tomorrow to fly to the east coast, meet up with said Fabulous Sister, take the class out there, and then deploy with them asap. Part of me feels like even this is too late, but another part is glad that I am in a situation where I can actually do something. Anything.

Um, so I will be gone for a few weeks. I'll try and post if there is any electricity where we get sent, but don't go holding your breath, okay? Send some positive vibes out for us to take along with us. Okay? Okay. Here we go.

I would just like to add a big thank you to our wonderful husbands who not only have regular jobs which make this financially feasible, but are also wholeheartedly supporting us doing this! You guys rock & we couldn't do this without you!!

I'm bummed that I didn't get to see you while in MD. I am a MD State trained crisis incidence Mental health volunteer awaiting to hear if and when they need mental health people. Sorry to say but your experience with the Red Cross is not unusual. I have found it better for my nervous system to work through the Salvation Army and/or various and sundry church groups. They seem to have their act(s) together much more than RC. This was reiterated once again in Gail Sheehey's book "Middleton" which covers post-911. Good luck and keep in touch.
